8400 Motec Drive Packages by Lenze
By the use of frequency inverters, electrical energy can be converted to motion in an especially
economical manner - in particular directly at the process. Since by means of
Decentralised Drive Technology Functions can be transferred to where they are
really needed, such solutions create real added value, especially in expanded systems of assembly technology and handling
technology. A high dynamic performance, energy efficiency, and power density: With the 8400 motec drive packages, Lenze has
succeeded in putting together some extremely compact drive packages.
For this purpose, the specialist for drive and automation technology cleverly combines his new
inverter-optimised L-force three-phase AC motors of the MF series, highly efficient gearboxes, and the 8400 motec motor inverters
which are also new. Inverter operation provides the basis to increase the motor power with a higher speed. The high ratio of the
Lenze gearboxes on its part provides comparable torques. This drive solution is rendered possible because the gearbox input
pinion is pressed into the motor output shaft in a friction-locked manner via taper interference fit - a Lenze speciality - and
because it can therefore be considerably smaller than a gear wheel placed on the shaft.

S300-F/G-SG-ST2/ST4 Series, The New MAXI Sensors
Datalogic Automation introduces
The New S300-F/G-SG-ST2/ST4 Series, advanced line of safety
photoelectric sensors in a MAXI shape, the suitable solution for critical applications thanks to the excellent
performances and resistance to the hard conditions of use. The new S300-F/G-SG-ST2/ST4 series is available in
Type 2 and Type 4 models with through beam optical function up to 50m for Type 2 models and up to 40m for Type 4
models. All models are equipped with M12 4-pole connector on both TX and RX units.
Together with standard models DEFOGGING MODELS with heated front glass are available for
applications where sudden changes of the temperature in the nearby of the sensor are causing condensation. The
new S300-F/G-SG-ST2/ST4 series are certified and must be used only together with SG-BWS-T4 and SG-BWS-T4-MT
control units : neither technical and functioning compatibility nor certification are guarantee if using S300
with other brand control units or old control units. Remember also that S300-F/G-SG-ST2/ST4 are the replacement
of the obsolete S30-F/G-ST2/ST4 series.

Facts About Ethernet Cable
There are different types of cable used for Ethernet applications. Standards (ANSI/TIA/EIA) dictate the rules that must be
applied when using Ethernet cable:
- A maximum of 100 meters of cable that includes: 90 meters of (solid conductor) horizontal cable and two, 5 meter
(stranded conductor) patch cables to connect equipment to the backplane.
- Directly connect 30 meters of stranded cable.
