The S60 series DataSensor Photoelectric Sensors, standard 50x50x15 mm compact housing, offer all the most advanced optic functions, as well as the universal, available with safety class 1 laser emission. The series presents a complete range of models, including retroreflex with coaxial optics and polarisation filters for the detection of shiny and/or transparent objects, background and foreground suppression, contrast sensors with white light emission for the detection of colored marks, the compact photoelectric sensor with UV emission for the detection of luminescence references and the distance sensor with analogue output. The basic DataSensor models for presence detection present trimmer sensitivity adjustment, while the models with the advanced optics are microprocessor controlled and have the patent-covered EASYtouch setting, which gives rapid and precise setting of the switching threshold, with the possibility of remote control, keyboard block and selection of the output delay function.

The DataSensor SL5 Laser Sensors, thanks to the laser emission concentrated in a thin light beam, represent the ideal solution for the detection of very small objects or to reach very long operating distances. Precise detections with decimillimetre resolutions can be obtained with the proximity model at an operating distance ranging from 0 to 35 cm. High operating distances can be reached with the 12 m polarised retroreflex model, or with the 60 m through beam model; high-resolution detections at shorter distances can be effected also. The visible red emission is generated by a Class 1 laser according to the EN 60825-1, guaranteeing the maximum safety in all applications.

The popular Datasensor S7 fiber-optic amplifier has been enhanced with the introduction of new models with white light emission and 10kHz switching frequency (corresponding to only 50µs response time). These new devices are exceptionally precise, fast and suitable for functioning as Fiber-Optic Contrast Sensors in print registration applications. The sensor alignment, setting and functioning are easily managed through the 4-digit display present on the panel together with the setting and configuration keys. All the following functions and parameters can be configured using the keyboard: delay timing at output deactivation selectable from 0, 5, 10, 20 or 40ms; normal (500us/1kHz) or fast (50us/10kHz) response time; dark or light operating mode; display orientation for reading from right or left sides; and display with either continuous powering or power-save function.

When used as a print registration sensor, the new S7 model DataSensor Fiber Sensors with white light emission perform at their best when combined with coaxial proximity Fiber-Optics such as the OF-36-ST-20 model and the extra-flexible OF-36-XF-20 model. When the light spot needs conditioning, the OF-44-ST-20 model and the extra-flexible OF-44-XF-20, can be fitted with the AF-3 (19mm distance and 4mm resolution) and AF-4 (7mm distance and 0.4mm resolution) focusing lenses.

The S65-V DataSensor Color Sensors offer the best performances for color detection in a standard 50x50x25 mm compact housing. The Infra S65-V0 model, thanks to a good response time of only 340 µs, results to be particularly suitable for automatic packaging applications where high speed and color mark detection are necessary. The S65-V1 model DataSensor Color Sensor increases the chromatic sensitivity of S65-V0 towards dark colours, allowing to distinguish even slight tone differences, useful in quality control and part checking, at inferior process speed. The Infra sensors can memorise and recognise 3 colors on 3 independent channels. The C (chromaticity) or C+I (chromaticity and intensity) detection algorithm and the tolerance level can be chosen for each color. The 0 to 40 ms delay programming is the same for each channel. The auxiliary functions include keylock and synchronisation with external events through a specific input.

The S80 series DataSensor Distance Sensors, in the compact sturdy metal housing, offers innovative class 2 laser distance sensors with time of flight measurement. This technology, based on the measurement of the time between the emission and receipt of the laser light pulses, effects accurate distance detection. The S80-Y0 and S80-YL0 DataSensor Distance Sensors function as proximity on respectively a 0.3 to 4 m distance, or from 0.3 to 7 m with scalable range, in object positioning or detection applications, for example as double-threshold background suppression on long distance. The S80-Y1 and S80-Y2 DataSensor Distance Sensors, with operating distances reaching 20 or 100 m, function as retroflex measuring the distance from a reflector mounted on the object to detect and are ideal for position applications in automatic warehouses or material handling lines in general. All Infra Distance Sensor models have two switching outputs, available in both the NPN and PNP models, that can be set at different distances, while the measurement value is supplied on the 4-20 mA analogue output and RS485 serial interface; the latter can be also used to set all the parameters.

Infra DataSensor TH-T Temperature Controller series offers a complete range of solutions able to satisfy many varied industrial automation needs, including basic models suitable for more simple and cost-effective applications and advanced models created specifically for the more evolved control and interface systems. Programming of the temperature controllers is quick and easy as the most frequentlyused configurations can be set with few keyboard operations. Models with a RS485 serial interface can send the parameter configuration and receive the controlled values through an industrial PC that can control different units.

The new DataSensor Digital Contrast Sensor line of the TL46 series is characterised by excellent performances in terms of resolution, definition and precision of the light spot emitted by RGB LEDs, low response time and high switching speed. The sensor, developed in a sturdy metal housing with standard fixing, is available in 3 different versions able to better satisfy all applications offering avantgarde technology at the best price/performance ratio. The TL46-W DataSensor Contrast Sensor basic version has only one set push-button, 2 LEDs indicating respectively the output status and sensor acquisition condition. The performances and use ease have be optimised and offered at a competitive price. The TL46-WL standard version has set 3 push-buttons, 4 LEDs signalling the output status, sensor acquisition condition, delay output activation and push-button activation.

The DataSensor Slot Sensors of the SR21 series, with 2 mm slot width, are characterised by a high 12 bit (4096 steps) resolution, a low 20 µs response time and a switching frequency reaching 25 kHz. The setting of the switching threshold is carried-out automatically by simply pressing a push-button, or dynamically during label (or other reference) movement. The SR21-IR model DataSensor Slot Sensor with infrared emission is ideal for label or hole detection on continuous surfaces, while the SR21-RG model Infra DataSensor Slot Sensor with double red or green emission suits colour print register mark detection on transparent films for automatic packaging.

The photoelectric light grids of the AS1 series are crossed-beam DataSensor Area Sensors able to detect all objects, with even 0.2 mm thickness, inside a 100 mm height, over operating distances reaching 2.1 m between emitter and receiver. A standard resolution version is also available for less critical and cost-effective applications. The Infra DataSensor AS1 Area Sensors represent the ideal solution for the detection of very small objects, even when passing in different positions inside the controlled height and width. Thanks to the short response time, the ultra-compact DataSensor AS1 light grids suit fast conveyor lines, such as feeding and downloading lines, for the detection and counting of objects in random positions. The PNP output is activated every time an object is detected inside the sensitive area between the receiver and emitter. Two differet Infra DataSensor AS1 Series Area Sensor models are available: high resolution (AS1-HR) or standard resolution (AS1-SR).

The SAFEasy DataSensor Safety Light Curtains of the SF2 series, according to the IEC 61496-1 and IEC 61496-2 standards, are very suitable for hand protection of operators exposed to risks. Different models are available with ten standard heights ranging from 150 to 1500 mm, 30 mm resolution and an operating distance reaching 15 m. The emitter and receiver units are optically synchronised and contain all the control circuits, test input and two safety outputs inside the housing. The connection with the machine stopping circuits are guaranteed by unshielded M12 4-pole connectors for the emitter and M12 5-pole connectors for the receiver. The DataSensor SAFEasy light curtains of the SF2 series have also integrated the test function, automatically activated every 0.5 seconds, without stopping the machine's working cycle. A wide range of industrial applications, requiring operator safety, can be solved by Infra SAFEasy light curtains, thanks to the extremely compact dimensions (31x32 mm), easy installation and excellent performances.

The DataSensor Controller units of the SB-BWS-T2 series are suitable to type 2 safety systems and can be connected to one or two emitter-receiver photocell couples, available in the tubular M18 format, either in the plastic S5-F/G-ST2 or metal S10-F/G-ST2 DataSensor Safety Light Curtain Controller versions for distances reaching 8 m, or in the parallelepiped S30-F/G-ST2 model reaching 50 m. At any interruption of a photocell couple's beam, the contacts of the two relay outputs open causing the safety block of the controlled machinery. The activation and the Restart of the control unit's output are both obtained closing the 'Start' contact, while the 'Test1' and 'Test2' contacts check the systems without physically interrupting the light beam.

Datasensor has extended its range even further with the addition of the recently-updated OF series of universal plastic optic fibers from Bologna-based Infra International. The updated range supports the TEN Series Fiber-Optic Sensors in a number of ways. Firstly, it brings a range of new OF models and accessories to the market. It also separates universal optic fibers from those dedicated to specific sensors. The new range DataSensor Fiber Optics also standardises and clarifies universal fiber denominations, while retaining compatibility with competitor products. All the new optic fibers come with a plastic core, typically of polymethylmethacrylate, coated with polyethylene. Optic heads are constructed of nickel-plated brass.
