Control Techniques Servo M'Ax's Automatic Motor Mapping sets itself and gets you going in minutes. No longer do you need to worry about determining and programming the motor type, current, phase angle, inertia, Kt, Ke etc. It is automatic, immediately at power up, even without the need for a PC, thereby ensuring a trouble free and fast start up. One step keypad programming calculates the PID gains and gets you running. Better still, if you know your machinery inertia then simply dial it in and one step recalculates the optimal gains for best running. M'AxSoft is a windows based drive set-up program that is designed to enable the complete control and display of all parameters within M'Ax Control Techniques AC Servo Drives. The quantum leap in servo design that is M'Ax, redefines totally what a User can and should expect from a servo system in terms of simplicity to use and install, installation costs, set up times, axis performance, precision and resolution.

By achieving substantial advances in all of these crucial areas, M'Ax provides machine builders with a simple, powerful, and cost effective way of improving the competitiveness and performance of their own machines. Superb precision performance is standard thanks to the revolutionary SLM Technology. M'Ax's feedback provides 8.3 million points per revolution for the speed loop control. With this high resolution we are able to track the smallest deviation and work with gains that do not reach the threshold of instability. The result is high dynamic response with good motion regularity and ultra smoothness in rotation. M'Ax Control Techniques AC Servo Drives can give your machinery that extra competitive edge through improved machinery performance.

The Epsilon Series is a compact range of servo drives and despite its size it delivers all the performance, reliability and convenience you expect from a product designed and built by Control Techniques. It's also been designed to fit into a 200mm deep enclosure with cables connected. The Epsilon Series Control Techniques Servo Drives consists of three ratings, and having two unique configurations that focus the drive toward specific applications. The Epsilon drives are stand-alone, fully digital brushless servo drives designed and built to reliably provide high performance and flexibility without sacrificing ease of use. The use of State-Space algorithms make tuning very simple and forgiving, no PID needed.

Control Techniques Epsilon Compact Servo Drives

The Control Techniques Servo Drives are designed to operate with up to 10:1 inertia mismatch right out of the box. Higher (50:1 and more) inertia mismatches are possible with two simple parameter settings. Complete diagnostics are provided for quick troubleshooting. A diagnostic display on the front of the drive informs the user operational or fault status. The last 10 faults are stored in non volatile memory along with time stamp for easy recall. The Epsilon Servo Drive is matched with the EZ series of Servo Motors (0.6 Nm to 6 Nm) which have 2048 ppr fitted as standard. An ultra-high specification offer is available, NT, New Technology motor shorter frame, lower profile, high torque/inertia ratio. Epsilon's 20 kHz switching frequency means smoother and quieter operation with EZ and NT motors. Operator terminals can be easily interfaced to the Epsilon series drives. The wide array of parameters available through the serial port makes the operator interface a window into the drive for easy diagnostics and adjustments. Most of the parameters need no scaling or translation to be usable so the data can be displayed as is, further simplifying your interfacing effort.

The Emerson Control Techniques MiniAx is an ultra compact and robust ac brushless servo module designed to meet a wide range of automation applications. The cost effective but dynamic design has made MiniAx the perfect partner for OEMs who are searching for a compact reliable servo package that offers superior performance. Designed for applications where the dynamic, accurate control of the position, velocity and toque loop are critical Control Techniques MiniAx and its performance matched MM55 motor range have helped improve machine productivity. The Epsilon Series Eb (Base) Drive is a compact drive that is ideal for use with single and multi-axis controllers and PLCs.

The analogue torque and velocity modes can be used with classic servo controllers using analogue outputs and encoder inputs. The pulse mode is ideal for use with low cost PLC stepper controllers and for upgrading stepper applications where stepping motors cannot deliver the required performance. This Control Techniques Servo Drive works in a variety of applications where a host control provides a command signal determining the desired motion profile. The Eb Drive is configurable for five flexible modes of operation. The EZ series delivers excellent motor speed control and highly accurate positioning capability demanded by automated machinery industries. The EZ series of motors provide high torque with minimal cogging torque. Incremental encoder feedback and commutation results in excellent speed and position control. The use of specially developed coil wire gives ultimate reliability and quality. All these design criteria combined with high energy magnets mean EZ motor's performance is truly dynamic. Emerson's new NT series motors, suitable for ultra dynamic applications, deliver very high power to size ratios. We accomplished this with the use of the latest motor design and production technology that achieves a high motor slot fill along with high-energy Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets. The NT motors and Epsilon Servo Drives are a natural combination where small size and high performance are needed.

Drive application areas are very diverse in terms of control and power requirements. Emerson Control Techniques Unidrive SP Servo Drive meets this challenge with its ever increasing family of products. Already established as the Benchmark in terms of applications flexibility, the Unidrive SP now adds power flexibility to become the Benchmark in large drives. Modular Input and Output power units, optimised for system integrators and OEMs to build into their own cubicles using a range of integration accessories with full documentation. A range of very compact and innovative IP20 input and output power modules enable the creation of a comprehensive range of power systems. System designers look to maximise the features of the drive itself, in combination with the integration options to minimise cost whilst maximising performance.

Features such as secure disable and back up power supply inputs help to realise system cost reductions. Control Techniques Unidrive SP Servo Drives can be configured to provide full four-quadrant control of the power within the drive system. In regenerative mode, the Unidrive is capable of either supplying power to the DC bus of the Unidrive controlling the motor or removing power from the DC bus of the Control Techniques Unidrive controlling the motor and returning it back to the supply.
