Powerful Sensors - Versatile Application
|
|
The new photoelectric sensors of the 28 series from Leuze electronic are equipped with many technical
highlights, but they are characterized in particular by a sophisticated mounting concept.
The sturdy, fiber-reinforced plastic housing with protection class IP 67 makes it possible to attach screw
fittings into through holes in the sides. Integrated pockets serve as anti-rotation protection for the M3 nuts for this purpose.
In addition, "the sensor people" have equipped the housing with an M18 thread both in the front and on the bottom. A nut included
in the delivery contents is sufficient for frontal or standing M18 hole mounting. With the help of a support from the Leuze
electronic range of accessories, the sensors can also be mounted on rods. These diverse fastening options enable the user to
mount the system quickly and easily for all types of application possibilities. In addition, high performance reserves and the
A²LS active suppression of extraneous light make for particularly reliable detection in difficult industrial conditions – even at
extreme temperatures of down to -40 °C.
|

28 SERIES |
|
The simple alignment via the highly visible brightVision® light spot, an LED status
display (yellow/green), two complementary switching outputs for light and dark switching operation as well as an attractive
price/performance ratio round out the profile of the 28 series.

Compact Sensors - Optimal for Tight Installation Spaces
|
|
With series 5, Leuze electronic has developed universal photoelectric sensors which are consistently aligned
to make the integration of sensors as easy and flexible as possible.
The new universal photoelectric sensors of series 5 are predestined for powerful standard detection in
restricted installation spaces. They are used in packaging technology, conveyor and storage systems as well as in special-purpose
machinery manufacture. Due to the large temperature range of -40 to +60 °C, the sensors are also suitable for applications in
extreme climatic conditions, such as in cold stores. The sturdy plastic housing in particular with protection class IP 67 was
designed for difficult industrial situations. M3 metal threaded sleeves guarantee quick and easy mounting. A flexible cable
outlet, either leading out from below or from behind, enables integration into the tightest installation spaces. Alignment and
commissioning are completed quickly via the large, highly-visible brightVision® light spot. During operation, a high range and
the A2LS active supression of extraneous light ensures reliable function.

A particularly bright LED display (yellow/green) visualizes the status for operation, signal and performance
reserve. Two complementary switching outputs also provide flexible possibilities for use in light and dark switching
operation.

This Encoder Really Gets in Your C-Face
|
|
With C-face mounts on both sides, the Model 770 is a rugged, high resolution encoder designed to mount directly
on NEMA C-face motors (56C - 184C) and additional devices such as brakes, clutches and gearboxes. Unlike many "kit" type C-face
encoders, the Model 770 contains precision bearings and an internal flex mount, which virtually eliminates encoder failures and
inaccuracies induced by motor shaft runout or axial endplay.
A slim 1.00" thick, it's ideal for induction motor and flux vector control applications. The Thru-Bore design
allows fast and simple mounting of the encoder directly to the accessory shaft or to the drive shaft of the motor. And, the Model
770 typically costs hundreds of dollars less than competitor's low-performance products.
|
 Model 770 |
|
The advanced Opto-ASIC design provides advanced noise immunity necessary for many industrial applications. This
encoder is ideal for applications using induction motors and flux vector control. The tough, all metal housing resists the
vibration and hazards of an industrial environment.

|
Heavy Duty Solution: 716 HD10 Housing (Comparable to BEI's H40)
|
|
The EPC Model 716 HD10 housing, when combined with the heavy duty mounting plate (part no. 176396-01) matches
the bolt pattern, shaft height and shaft diameter of the BEI H40. The 1/4" thick HD10 housing features rugged R10 bearings and is
suitable for demanding applications in industries such as lumber, pulp and paper, mining, material handling and more.
The Cube Series housing styles are available in both the Basic Cube Series Models and the Specialty Cube
Series Models. The new E-Cube version of the Cube Accu-Coder increases critical performance specifications for the most popular
resolutions.
|
 Cube Series |
|
The E-Cube features advanced Opto ASIC circuitry, 125 kHz frequency response, select CPR to 2500, 3 arc
minutes accuracy, 85° C standard operating temperature and optional 100° C operation at 5-24 VDC. The single chip design of
the E-Cube eliminates many board level components, increasing the reliability of an already dependable and durable
industrial encoder. See specifications for available resolutions. The Standard Cube version remains available and covers all
resolutions not offered in the E-Cube. Optional 5PY Adaptor (175443) allows any Standard Cube Housing to be interchanged
with any 5PY tach generator.

CONTRINEX RFID with All-Metal Components
RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) systems permit both writing to and reading from passive electronic
labels (battery-free transponders) as opposed to barcode solutions. Data is transferred to and from the transponder using a
so-called read/write module. Thanks to great flexibility and operating security, as well as relative insensitivity to
adverse environmental conditions, RFID solutions are used in countless industrial identification applications.
CONTRINEX offers both transponders as well as read/write modules in one-piece, all-metal housings of
stainless steel, sealed at the sensing face. Thanks to their outstanding chemical and mechanical resistance, they are
particularly well-suited for use in difficult industrial conditions.
|
 CONTRINEX RFID |
|
The CONTRINEX read/write modules are available in sizes M18 and M30 with plastic caps or as all-metal
models. The range is completed by a portable read/write device. If necessary, up to 4 read/write modules can be attached to
each interface device. The CONTRINEX interface devices are available in three versions and serve as interfaces to Profibus,
DeviceNet and RS485. The range of transponders comprises non-embeddable classic plastic models as well as embeddable and
non-embeddable impervious all-metal executions, with or without threading. All the transponders are both read and write, and
have a memory of 2 kbits. Word or memory zones can additionally be read and/or write protected.

TOSHIBA Releases Mount-Anywhere NSF-Approved Meter for Potable Water Applications
Toshiba's newest development in instrumentation,
The LF Electromagnetic Flow Meter, is an NSF-certified offering that uses a hard
rubber lining in sizes 4" to 24" and provides a high level of metering accuracy for potable water applications. It incorporates
Toshiba's proprietary mount-anywhere magnetic field distribution technology which makes the flow meter highly immune to
upstream flow disturbances. These products are now available through Toshiba International Corporation and its partners.
The Toshiba LF electromagnetic flow meter uses Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction to measure process
flow. The device consists of two units: 1) a detector, through which the fluid to be measured flows and 2) a converter
(LF620/LF622), which supplies excitation current to the detector. Due to its NSF certification, the LF meters utilizing a hard
rubber liner will be compliant with any installation where NSF 61-certified materials are required. Communications options
include: PROFIBUS-PA, HART, and MODBUS.

As an active participant in the effort to stimulate the US economy, Toshiba offers several motors and
adjustable speed drives that are fully compliant with the Buy American requirements of section 1605 of the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5 (ARRA) for manufactured goods. Not only is Toshiba maintaining its American
manufacturing base, but it is also growing its domestic manufacturing capabilities, while remaining committed to
manufacturing products from start to finish using only the highest quality domestic and foreign parts.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is an economic stimulus package enacted by congress in
February 2009. Section 1605 of this act sets forth the clear expectation that all iron, steel, and manufactured goods used in
an ARRA-funded project must be produced in the United States. To be considered of domestic origin, a good must be
manufactured or qualify as substantially transformed in the United States. The list of compliant Toshiba products is
